My Professional Journey
My path to becoming a therapist is rooted in a deep desire to connect with and empower others.
Before earning my Master's Degree in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I spent a decade immersed in marketing strategy and research, focused on making meaningful connections for brands. My decision to change career paths was inspired by my own journey of self-discovery and the realization that my career as a researcher had primed me to become a therapist — I was skilled at creating comfortable spaces for open conversations. I could also listen intently, ask insightful questions to understand the whole picture, and analyze information without bias. These weren't just marketing skills; they were deeply human ones. Today, I'm incredibly passionate about therapy and so grateful to apply this unique skillset to helping people heal and grow.
My clinical experience truly took shape in community behavioral health settings. It was a privilege to provide therapy to both children and adults who were bravely navigating complex trauma and severe and persistent mental illness.
I honed my skills even further in a group private practice. There, my work expanded, and I began facilitating support groups and providing couples therapy. I also continued supporting individuals through common struggles like family dysfunction, low self-esteem, codependency, and the lasting effects of narcissistic abuse.
All these diverse experiences, combined with my own deep convictions and a strong commitment to truly client-centered care, led me to one clear vision. I felt a profound passion to create a dedicated space for transformative healing – a place where your unique journey to wholeness could be honored with the utmost care and compassion. That's why I proudly established The Golden Thread.
